Yum! We're going to blackberry picking tomorrow and can't wait! Putting them in oatmeal sounds like a great idea.

I don't remember ever seeing blackberries in the States, well done you! I look forward to blackberry season every year here, but we're away so much this year I'm afraid I might miss it. Nothing tastes so delicious as free food, unless it's homegrown.

We did this while visiting northern California and Oregon. Alas--not available in our area. Interestingly, our norther CA relatives didn't bother...

Yuko - did you manage to pick a lot of blackberries?

Shelley - I completely agree, free food is the best! I also managed to gather a big bag of wonderfully sweet plums. :)

ExactingL - I feel the berries and fruit are early this year which makes me think winter is not too far off…

FrugalS - I'm surprised how many people don't bother. Someone stopped and asked me what I would do with all the fruit. "Why, eat it!" I replied. :)
